Every week I will be discussing a different topic on grief and loss, suicide, cancer, and spirituality. How does one survive grief? Each person will deal with grief in a different way and in their own time. The most important aspect to realize is every person is different. I know it helps to talk about it – whether it be with a grief counsellor, support group, friend or family member, know you are not alone. Look for groups that relate to your own personal loss.
I cope with grief by remembering my loved ones – I choose to celebrate their life, their love for me, my love for them, their impact on my life, and how much they meant to me. I keep their memory alive and send my love and thoughts to them on the other side believing they are close by.
